    Hi All

Looking to start a site like w3*InThePremiership*com.

Needs to have the same functionaility, possibly a admin panel to update legue tables news etc etc

Will obviously be on a different domain and would also like the functionailty to be able to apply the same to other sports i.e. rugby, motorsport, cricket etc etc

So maybe some sort of generic script or add-on for Jommla or Wordpress

    Please PM with any ideas

    Cheers

That template isn't a joomla nor wp template, it's a custom build by studio7designs.

It's blog widgets and basic casing around some pretty clean database table display forms. It's done in asp. Would function better in php but that's a personal preference.

You can check out asp scraping here:
    Code:
    http://blog.screen-scraper.com/2008/06/04/scraping-aspnet-sites/
You can check out the studio that claims to have built it here:
    Code:
    http://www.studio7designs.com/portfolio/
You can see a functioning asp form from their site here:
    Code:
    http://www.inthepremiership.com/league.aspx
In the future, to keep from having to use those astrisks and such all the time, just use the '
    Code:
' tags. Quote or reply to any post with a link in it to see what I'm talking about.

It's not done in ASP. It's done in ASP.NET. Why do you think it would "function better" in PHP?

Yeah, I noticed that it is .net after I posted that. Nothing against asp nor asp.net platforms. I think php tends to process a little faster and is more flexable, however, again, that is a personal preference.

I disagree, but I do not want to get into a big argument over this, especially in someone else's thread. To each his/her own.

Of course it is. I recommend having it developed using ASP.NET 3.5 | VB 2008 | SQL Server 2008...but that's just my personal preference. :)

Nah, no arguement here, man. They both work. It's like windows or linux server or mac or pc...just a preference. In this case, I agree with you that this site is a great choice for the .net platform. It obviously works in it's current form.
