Singular vs Plural EMD

Quick question:

I'm looking to start a new niche site. I've found a great keyword/niche, but had a question about EMD's.

There are 2 search terms:
singular: "[keyword] review"
and the plural: "[keyword] reviews".

There's an EMD .co available for the singular, but the plural has 20x more searches. When comparing them in Market samurai, the results for the top 10 appear to be the same.

Will using the singular help me get an EMD bonus in serps?

If the plural is isn't available then what choice do you have lol? Anyway, it will be better than an unrelated IMO... but as I said, what choice do you have?

I don't think they make all that much difference.

just use keywordreviewX and buy the dot com.
