Autumn is totally my season. It usually makes me so happy. I think of autumn, and I think of Bjork's "All is full of love". Then I smile. Then I realize, "Wait a second, all is NOT full of love". Being single has had me incredibly depressed the last couple of months. Everywhere I look, it seems everyone is in a relationship.

What do you think the perks are of being single vs. relationship? Which would or do you choose? I can sit here all day and be thankful that I don't hear snoring at night or wake up to dog breath in my face, but the reality of it is I'm desperately lonely.

I'm hoping some people will have some good insight as to why being single can be full of win. I look forward to the responses. :)

    Mary

"thankful that I don't hear snoring at night or wake up to dog breath in my face"

    That really made me laugh...

Well I went through a breakup a few months ago after being together for 4 years. I just knew it had to happen.

What you should try to do in this time, is some self actualization... figure out more about yourself, what you want and what you need etc... hang out with more people and focus on the personalities of those you hang out with, try to figure out what kind of person would make you happy...

you will find what you need when you least expect it, so don't even try to go look for it.

also, focus on your future and getting things lined up...family,friends,money,education etc etc

You need to find someone who is just as crazy as you.
I donĀ“t want to have someone in my life who try to change the way I am.

    Greetings,

Well, I do know what I want in a mate...it's just really hard to find.

I'd like a geek who likes making money/business as much as I do. I also love being outdoors. Problem is, most geeks don't leave their computers long enough to find people. I've tried online dating, it didn't work. Maybe I should give the whole long distance thing a try.

I guess that's better than the advice I've been getting...

"God will bring someone in your life! Go to church, you'll find a good christian man!"

    (I'm an atheist.) LOL

When I am in a relationship it usually takes up a lot of my time. When I'm not, I can focus my time entirely on bettering myself, whether it is getting my money up with IM, perusing a hobby, or whatever. Doing these things will only make you more desirable and interesting for a future partner. I try to channel any type of negative emotion like loneliness and convert it into a fire of motivation to fix it instead of drowning in the feeling.

I've been using the time to spend time with my family.

I also think that the breakup with my child's father added fuel to the fire to restart a business. I was making 10k a month with my last business. I want to exceed that this time. It shouldn't be hard since I wasn't putting in much effort last time. I'm also afraid that I'll become successful and be used for my money. heh

being in a relationship doesn't mean you have to spend a lot of time with your partner. Not always true. There are people who are in relationship but still have plenty of time as if they were single. You just have to find someone who isnt very obsessed with relationship thingey, willing to give you freedom when you want it, but at the same time committed in that relationship itself. Well ofcourse it aint easy to find but it's well worth it.

Being single is good but you dont want to be single until you get really old. Im not saying you should put all of your efforts in finding the right person for yourself, just when you have free time.

Your best bet is to find someone on here. I made a thread about wanting to do IM and moving to costa rica and i found out a lot of people on here travel the world and do IM.

Well, my fiancee is a very traditional filipina, so she cooks and cleans all day and is incredibly hard working. I'd feel like an assh*le if I complained at all with all the stuff she does for me. She even folds my socks..

Find a geek that's a outdoor affiliate marketer- at least you can get a discount on your outdoor needs- its always best to find a fling right after Valentine's day.

I do think I need to move. I was thinking of moving close to Indianapolis once the business takes off.

I HAVE thought of looking for people on here, actually. I'm just not sure how well I'd be looked upon posting an LTR ad on BHW. Actually, that might be kind of funny. :D

I'm going to check out that link someone just posted. Thanks for all the advice!

Another thing, I think one of my problems is I'm emasculating. I've been told I "don't need a man" since I'm very strong and mechnical (I went to school for carpentry and I work in maintenance currently). I would love someone who would be ok with being my housewife. :)
