Single Product Sites or Multi Product

I have seen some success with single product clickbank sites using an EMD. However these sites are "thin" and there is little sustainability long term. They are easy to rank though.

I am wondering if anyone has had success building a branded site promoting 4-5 products? Specifically I am wondering if its more challenging to rank landing pages rather than a single site EMD? Also if the added factor of having other products leads to more conversions or the added choice leads to customers undecisive and looking elsewhere for more reviews?

Its best to go with what you are comfortable with. Multi product sites also work, but you will be optimizing a single webpage for seo each time and not your whole site at once.

theres also the fact that the domain authority would trickle over too boost every page for you though.

Both!
Make small single products, they rank quickly as they are small and direct. Then add it to your multi-product one. Everytime you finish a new one add it to your multi-product one. Keep your multi-product away from you singles. Different server if need it.

good advice evil clown.

what combination of affiliate programs should I run on each site? I plan on using adsense and amazon but what else would be good in combination with these?

You shouldn't use them together. Adsense is for monetizing content, Amazon products aren't content.

so if I have an amazon site, I should use strictly amazon on that site? I plan to sell books and write content based on the books I list

Look at ecommerce websites on the internet.... Do any other sites run AdSense on the same site they are trying to sell stuff? No, they don't. Obviously you're going to write stuff about the books your selling, its called a product description. Think about why a user should shop on your website and not the other 1 billion websites out there that aren't running AdSense and have good descriptions.
