Simulation Theory Mind Fuck

Yeah it's fun to think about but it's just a theory.. and if it is just a simulation who created the creator of the simulation etc..etc..etc.. lol never ends.

What if we all are AI except you? Or maybe you are AI and there is only one free human and his name is Robert Lamborghini Himler.

From 10.00 onwards were their talking about the advancement of technology and about the program, i believe like say in the next 100-500 years ago they would be able to achieve that level of programming to build artificial conscientiousness. Also around 11.30 that was a mind fuck beyond any that i have encountered lol.

Quoting Wikipedia:

Simulation is the imitation of the operation of a real-world process or system over time.

So things start to complicate once you mention the word "time", because there is no single notion of time for all the observers. Each observer has its own measure of time. Universe is something beyond simulation as we know it, even if the concept seem fitting.

Additionally, in the context of simulation, some things make no immediate sense. Such as - what is entropy? What is black hole? Why light behaves either as a particle or a wave, depending on the measurement setup (read double slit experiment on wiki, there are some interesting philosophical points to be found), etc.

It's all perspectives. Some make more sense then others.

This is the full lecture Joe Rogan is referring to
^^Dr. Sylvester James Gates, the guy with the awesome afro from the science channel, and his team found self correcting code IRLz

Edit: Posted the wrong video, lmao, that was cheezy as hell. Fixed + Neil Degrasse Tyson

guys, have been watching sci fi movies too much wahahaha.

It would be easy to debunk the simulation idea if space-time was continuous. Since it seems it 's quantised, well... f*ck. Why is space-time quantised?

when "the matrix" came out, some people got really caught up in the idea of a simulation.
this is the same.

I'm laughing at you hahaha.

The min he said " you can drown on the ocean.and death is not real!. I Burst out laughing

That wasn't the point.

With a name like that he deserves to not have AI

What are you referring to?

Not to forget "time" is debatable in itself. There are events that have happened in the past, there are events that will happen in the future, but there only is now. How do you know that time isn't an illusion?

What if Matrix isn't just a movie?

Simulation or not, that's not the point imo. We very recently evolved from monkeys, we understand a truly infinitesimal amount about the universe though we act as if we do and usually believe we do. It's about possibilities, not hype or conspiracy theory.

I'm laughing at you hahaha.
lmao

This is all talk but physicists are actually devising tests to determine if indeed we are living within the Matrix, i.e. numerical simulation, by measuring certain distributions of cosmic rays:

"Ever wonder if the universe is really a simulation? Well, physicists do too. Recently, a group of physicists have devised a way that could conceivably figure out one way or the other whether that is the case. There is a paper describing their work on arXiv. Some other physicists propose that the universe is actually a giant hologram with all the action actually occurring on a two-dimensional boundary region."

Link to the paper for you heavy hitters out there:

It was an awesome theory, that the space-time is quantized. I was myself excited about it, made a perfect connection between "pixel" size, entropy, and black holes (there is a video on Youtube as far as I remember).

Unfortunately, the only prediction they were able to make is that due to quantization short frequency waves will travel slower than long frequency waves. The latter was proven to be wrong about 2 months ago, when NASA registered 2 waves with different frequency, coming from the same pulsar at the same time.
