Hi, I’m curious about this type of websites that basically are sites with only a few pages (17 in this case). There are many of these websites using affiliate links and paid traffic (display traffic). The one in the example has been online for at least two years, so it means they are earning money. My question is, how much money are they spending to make it profitable?
English is my second language, so sorry about the spelling mistakes. In fact the site I’m going to analyse is focused on Spain. It’s a small date site with affiliate links to known dating platforms with affiliate programs. I’m thinking about doing something similar but in a different niche. However, the idea and the method will be the same.
I open this thread to ask for any advice of someone who has done (or is doing) something similar. This is the website:
The data on Similarweb is the following. As you can see the traffic is huge, but I remember that not so long ago the traffic was even bigger. Anyway, 135k visitors each month is a good number:
On Semrush and SimilarWeb we can see that most of the traffic is paid, and it comes from Display Ads:
What I don’t know if the display traffic is coming from Google Ads, Bing Ads or any other type of networks. I’m even thinking that maybe they are using native advertising (Taboola, Outbrain, etc.). What I do now is that they must have a big budget to keep the money rolling in. Otherwise this small webpage would have been closed a long time ago.
Is anyone familiar with this king of projects? Is there something I’m missing here? It doesn’t look difficult to do, but I’m sure there’s more under the surface that we can’t see. Of course, when I decide to start my own project based on this one, I’ll write everything down as a “My Journey” thread. Thank you.
