I grew two niche social accounts to roughly 10k on Facebook / Twitter and they yield alright daily traffic considering it is an auto pilot blog. Usually get around 1/10th that in daily traffic.
At first I was getting 1-2 hits a day, and slowly refined the method The accounts will naturally grow after a certain point in time if it is a decent niche, I noticed a huge change at 10K. In fact.. My twitter analytics showed 240k impressions for January, with 190K for the last 9 days through refining and tweaking the level of posting, content etc.
