Hello Folks!

I have a simple question regarding the Amazon Affiliate Program.

You see, I'm only able to link to one amazon site (either .com or .co.uk), on my website. But what if a .co.uk customer click a link and lands on the .com site visa versa, will the tracking cookie still be mine if he then types and goes to the other site through his browser? Or will my cookie only be valid for the site he landed on through my link?

How do you guys deal with it? Which is the most lucrative then, to promote the .co.uk or the .com program?

cheers Christian :)

If your customer accesses amazon trough your referral link whatever .xxx he lands on and whatever product he purchases (even if it's not what you're promoting), you're getting a cut from it.

Okay, even though he goes from .com to .co.uk by entering the adress in address bar manually? The reason I'm a little confused about this is that you can both sign up to .com associate and .co.uk associate so thought they where some what split in some way :)

You have to create accounts in the country where your target audience is. In case if you're promoting amazon products to UK audience, then you need to create amazon.co.uk account and use that particular associate tag.

It's always better to target your local amazon site instead of amazon.com because most of the time the products won't available across all amazon stores(some cases of shipping not available outside of US).

If you're using wordpress, there are few plugins available which redirects the visitor to the local amazon site based on GEO location. Even in this case you'll have to create accounts from different amazon sites and input the associate tags to the plugin. Very weird but there's no other choice.

Thank You !

And allready found the solution for it. EasyAzon seems to do the job :)
