Some very simple questions, that will be very easy to answer for alot of you guys.
I've read through lots of pages of this section but since many answers are directed to people who understand the field it lacks focus for me and its outside of my understanding; hence the reason for this thread to clear some things up.

- I'm absolutely brand new to blogging

I've just set up this blog [nietzschemountain.blogspot.com] - the content on here will be unique and good quality I made the blog but the person writing the content will be a friend who is a real philosopher and is passionate about the subject. Assuming the content is real, its Whitehat SEO? So will it naturally rank well? I'm going to be making various, various, various, blogs. However I want to start off with one - to get too grips with things. So here are the questions

1. Do I need to use a domain name such as .net, or.com, or will .blogspot.com rank fine in googles search engine for now?
2. What are the neccesary things I need to do for this blog (assuming I have 0 blog knowledge - which is the case)
I know I must create backlinks, but how do I do that? I know I must do SEO, but how do I do that? The marketing with social networks and so forth I can nail, but all the other sort of things I really need some clarification.

Many, many thinks and any other general tips for a new blogger trying to make some cash through adsense, just throw me some advice!
Thankyou, Icy

Oh and on a sidenote, how many posts should a blog put on the daily? Keep in mind, REAL, original content! No spinning or anything :D

No replies ):

Questions like this have been asked hundreds of times. Blogspot will be fine, it's all about who's linking to you. If NYTimes links to your blogspot, you will go #1 in your niche. You can always upgrade to a TLD if you are enjoying the work. But with a blogspot sub-domain you have no control over it, if Google wants to toss it they can easilly. That's why people would avoid it.

Create good content, guest blog, offer guests to post on your site, they will link to the article on your site, link exchanges, forum niche contributing with forum signatures, etc. These are White Hat techniques and there is a whole section on the forum dedicated to White Hat linking techniques.

My advice is don't bother with adCENTS, try to be an affiliate for a product. CPA, or clickbank, etc. This makes it easier to convert your visitors because you know exactly what product you'll be advertising, and you can work directly with an actual business owner trying to sell their stuff, and not some huge greedy search engine who doesn't give a crap about you.

no problem. by the way i forgot to mention the importance of building an email list. look into that aswell. it's important to grow an audience that you can sell niche stuff to, and not just on facebook or other social networks you have really no control over your fans with. in your case, something as simple as: "sign up with your email today and receive a package of high quality landscape shots that you are free to use any way you please". and with that list of emails you could promote hiking equipment, traveling ebooks, and whatever new content you add to your blog with services like mailchimp or aweber.

Oh, wow that makes sense. Thanks.

its good you have started blogging with the help of your friend. You will rank because your friend is philosopher and writing good content .I suggest you to get your own domain instead of having blogspot.com .When you have your own domain ,the chances of making money will be wider and also if you have blogspot.com domain ,its not under your control completely but also google.
