Simple question

So now that I have recently gotten my blog looking/feeling the way I wanted to I wanted to ask a very simple question.

If I devote my time and intellect into this blog site how much money should I expect out of this one site just doing adsense?

EDIT: I just realized how not simple this question is because it is still too general and income is based on many different things. I'm just looking for general answers really.

But as far as variables go I am really new to this and I still don't know everything to maximize traffic/views.

You've heard of the saying "if you build it, they will come"?

Just write what you would like to share or what you are knowledgeable about. If it has any weight with anyone, they will eventually find you. In time, this audience will continue to grow as long as you remain active while posting. Sure, Adsense is good for revenue, but it entirely depends on your purpose (why you write) and your niche.

Monetization can come later. Backlinking can come later. Off-page SEO can come later. Even on-page SEO can come later.

Focus on quality content and try to put a fresh post on there several times (3-4) a week. Do this over the first 2-3 months or so and then start with just a post or two a week. By this time, you will have a substantial amount of content and should have attracted some real, targeted viewers. Once you start getting traffic, try and interact with your readers. Reply to their comments on your posts and keep them coming back for more. Then, make sure your traffic is following you on Twitter, FB, etc.

You will grow in time and then you can creatively insert appropriate links to make you some money. Don't just stop at Adsense. If you have a following of targeted traffic, you build trust with them. This trust makes it easy to sell to your audience. Create an e-mail list from your visitors that you can market to for weeks, months, and years.

If you only focus on Adsense revenue, then you are hoping to attract traffic only for them to click an ad and leave your page forever. Find a way to make them stay and you will make far more money in the long run.

Just checked adsense and I got .22 so far, never been so pumped over under a quarter before...

Have you done keyword research for the website? If so you can estimate how much you will earn by taking the estimated CPC and multiplying it by a portion of the exact searchers.
