Hi all,

Ok I need help with something...
I'm working right now and it's taking me too long time.

Here's what I need help with.

I have domains as in:
http://www.Website1.com
http://www.Website2.org
http://www.Website3.net
And so on I got many of these, I'd like to add some text at the end of each line, on every line, the same text that as.

So I want the above to become like this:
http://www.Website1.com/script/
http://www.Website2.org/script/
http://www.Website3.net/script/

As you can see I just added " /script/ " on all lines manually.

Now how do I do so easily without having to edit thousands of lines by hand?

NOTE: I don't want to replace anything I just want to add some text at the end of each line.

Advertise on BHW
Use notepad + and load all your domains.
And replace ".com" with ".com/script"
 
Use Notepad++ to search and replace "\r\n" with "/script/\r\n". Use search mode 'extended' while doing this
 
there might be an easier way, but this works:

load up excel

paste the list of URLs into a colum

put your extension in (/script/) or (script)

use the concatenate function =concatenate(A1,$B$1) (a1 is the top of the colum of URLs, B1 is the /script/ portion

drag the full list down to replicate it

excel and google docs have some pretty nifty tools under "text" functions
 
No I don't want to replace, I just want to add the same text at the end of each line, any simple solution that works?
 
Even though the solutions above use a 'replace' function - they all do what you want - they effectively add text to the end.

How?

They simply replace, I know how to replace all in notepad.exe but I don't want to replace since all domains have different extensions which could mess up my urls.
Here's an example if I replace .com then how will I be able to replace .com.au and .com.nz? See it messes things up.

replace all
.com -> .com/script/
.org -> .org/script/
.net -> .net/script/

Yes but that won't work when I have .com .com.au .com.nz .com.tr and so on.

I know the above and it won't solve my problem.
I bet it's something simple, but I just don't know what it is.

So no replacing just adding.
 
I have the perfect solution for you, since I needed this for my own purposes because I had thousands of lines in txt files that needed a suffix, I searched on Google for about 15min and I finally found it, the website that does this is:

It's pretty much explanatory, add the lines you want a suffix to be added in the input box at the top of the page, then go to "Add this suffix to each line of text" below and enter /script then click on "Add Prefix and/or suffix" and copy the modified lines from the output box, pretty simple....

You just saved me 3-4 days of work LOL

So that tool says 10,000 lines maximum, you reckon there is a pro version of some kind?

I don't know if there is a pro version but all the other websites I visited had softwares that did this kind of thing but most of them were paid and 2 of them had some kind of virus, I said WTF??? until I found this, it's free and online so u don't have to download anything...

The site also saved me 5 days of work since I had over 20000 lines that needed a suffix.
Btw, how many lines do you have? If you have more than 10000, then open multiple tabs on your browser and copy 10000 to each one and get them that's what I did, might take 1-2 minutes but it's better than 3-4 days LOL

you can create a macro at Notepad ++

and use the run macro to repeat macro on every line.

It gets all the lines on your text file.

Actually I meant multiple tabs on 1 browser(I use Chrome because it's fast and does the job without crashing like Firefox does sometimes:@) but using multiple browsers is good as well and you finish the job faster...

Yeah we are in the same business, I have used this with backlinks but also used it with keywords I wanted to check with Market Samurai and wanted to add each keyword a suffix to get data for the new modified keywords...
 
nice question and thanks for sharing that link with us man, i had the same problem too, was using macros but this is much better.
