Hey guys!

I have a very simple movie streaming website that doesn't host any movies on its server. Basically just a VERY simple HTML and CSS-styled website that has a small amount of text, an input box to enter IMDB code, and then an HTML Iframe to load that movie on from an external video player.

It's a very light webpage, and I can't add much text as there's not enough space for the iframe then. How do I increase search ranking and visits? Is this website worth spending my time on (it's complete, and with hosting and domain is costing me only $11/yr to run).

Thank you!

Would you mind me asking how you found the database of movies/show links to embed?

To answer your question, if your website is the one listed on your profile, you make it impossible for both google and users to search your site. How is google supposed to know that you offer "Interstellar Bluray 1080p Free Full Movie" when your site is asking for an IMDB code?

I will say the functionality of your site is awesome and the video played very clearly, but you make it impossible for Google to know what you offer.

On another note, you could try "word of mouth" strategies like facebook groups, reddit groups, etc to try and build your userbase.

True ugh I genuinely don't know how to fix that - I'll try that way then :/ also, the database is a hidden gem named 'VidSrc.me'

You need to create a site map or some way for google to crawl your site page by page. Right now it’s impossible for google to discover your website pages.

Thing is, there is literally only one page. (Actually 2, but that's only because of the https/http difference)

Well, if you’re going the SEO route you need each movie/show to have its own page and on page details so Google can read it. Also expect your site to get deindexed and to be able to relaunch at a seconds glance.

I'll get to work on it once I'm free. Just a question tho, do you think the site has potential?

For Traffic you can try posting reviews of each movie.
or articles like where to watch xyz movie or xyz tv series.

You can get more hits with social networks. Do not focus only search engines.

Start with direct traffic methods first... SEO is long-term.

You need to create your extended home page like a grid of new movies & web series. When people click on it, the site should automatically load the movie or web series. Most people who want to watch movies online are impatient, so you can't expect them to search IMDB tags. It'll take you less than a day to create 2 more pages "/latest-movies/" & "/latest-series/", and then give the links on your home page. You should also have a separate play page, which reduces load from the home page by redirecting active users.

For promoting your site, you can try creating tens of fake social media accounts and responding to users by saying something like "I watch movies & series from this site." This will help you spread the name among users and may bring a few dedicated users.

How would you recommend making and managing those accounts though?
