As I am new at this what sort of ads and placement are people using? I want to use adult pics so Adsense is out of the question, right?
Well, it depends on how creative you want to be with it.
Here's a suggestion.
Make your adult site but conceal it as a ' free images ' website, offering all kinds of images. Then, target your audience for the adult industry section for that given niche traffic stream in your campaign ads and emails.
Then you can legitimately post adsense on your pages because the guidelines require that you can post their ads on ' adult themed ' sites. It doesn't say anything about you offering an ' adult section ' within your ' general content theme ' driven site.
It's all in how you make it work for you by driving the right content to the right audience.
Be sure that you make them give up a name and email to use your site, as well as give an ' adult content ' warning page to protect yourself within the national guidelines of the censorship councils.
This gives you multiple streams of income from one site, as you can offer templates, graphics and everything else from here by searching for free content. All you have to do is steer clear of warez, p2p sharing and spamming. I know this kills out all of the fun stuff for most blackhatters but the thing is to ' bend ' the rules in your favor, not break them, nor the law for that matter.
It only draws attention of the wrong sort to you and makes them shut you down. The suggestion I'm offering you here works 100% within the given regulations of adsense and still allows you to target that market.
Advertise across the board. Post ads for swimwear models and adult stuff in those niche markets. Post ads for graphics and templates in those niche markets, etc.
Hope this helps.
One more thing...
Add backend offers and email special campaigns to these people once you capture their email info for whatever the are interested in and create your own income stream that way. The key to making that an organized operation is to simply add a catagory check list in your subscription form, making them check on what they'd like to get more information on.
This way, you can monitor and maintain the right mailing links to the right people on the list. Another failsafe for you is have them add a birthday and maybe even a credit card for age verification for access to the adult section.
I know this is a little bit of work to setup but once you have it in place, it will save you a fortune in the long run just due to these simple protection features.
Real business take REAL work.
