Simple Meta Tags Question ..

Hi I have one simple/stupid question:

Which type is better for meta keywords: my search phrases are as an example "test acer 1234" and "testreport acer 1234" "test acer lcd 1234"

Should my meta keyword tags look like:


or is it better this way?


Actually I am using the first type, but traffic travis seo page analyzer gives my meta tags a D+ .. secondly my main content page ranks very bad and a forum post with a link to this article ranks better then the article itself?

Get rid of the keywords tag altogether - it hasn't been used by google for ages.

Your competitors will be able to hijack your keyword research if you leave it in!

As the other posters have said, meta keywords hasn't been used by Google for ages - mainly because they've been spammed to death for as long as I can remember.

Use the title tag (headline), meta description (call to action) and then headlines, image names/alt tags, copy.

But think human first, search engine second. No point in coming up top if people just click the back button as fast as they reach your page.

Personally I still use the KW meta tag, while Big G may not use it, some of the other search engines do, I may not get a ton of traffic from those engines, but I am getting some, so I think it is just better to leave it. Obviously you should have your KWs in your title tag, but it doesn't hurt to have a KW tag. The poster above mentioned other good practices (use KW in header tags, use description tag).
