It's been a long time since I had posted a thread, I'd been really busy lately.. but here you go
We all want to achieve stuff, and there?s nothing wrong with that. We all want to get more stuff done, so we can move forward and get closer to our goal, and there?s nothing wrong here neither (as long as we?re getting the right stuff done).
Because we want to achieve more, we believe that doing one thing at a time is a waste of time, so we try to multi-task, and that?s one huge mistake.
Before getting into single-tasking, I?d like to explain to you why multi-tasking is wrong, and much less productive:
How to Get Used to Single-task:
If you are used to multi-tasking, learning to single-task may not be that easy, but it?s not hard neither. I did it, so everyone could. Here are some tips to help you mastering the art of doing one thing at a time.
1- Become Conscious:
The most important tip I can give you here, is to actually know that you need to single-task. Whenever you spot yourself multi-tasking, stop that and move to single-tasking mode.
2- Make it a Routine:
It doesn?t require a self-discipline or what I call brain-fighting to make this happen. You simple need to get used to it..
3- Make it Hard to Switch:
If you want to avoid brain-fighting when urges appear (where you usually loose), simply make it hard for you to get distracted from the task in hand.
To do that, you can cut off the internet when you are writing a post. You can close all other tabs, and keep the one you need. Make it as hard as possible to switch to other tasks, this way you will not have a hard time resisting when urges appear.
That?s everything I have on this subject, I hope it helped.
Thanks for taking the time to read.

Because we want to achieve more, we believe that doing one thing at a time is a waste of time, so we try to multi-task, and that?s one huge mistake.
Before getting into single-tasking, I?d like to explain to you why multi-tasking is wrong, and much less productive:
- Less Focus ? When we switch between tasks, we are not giving each task the time to get it done right because we are not completely focused in it, no matter how small it is.
- Switching Modes ? When we switch between two different tasks, we also switch our thoughts direction, our brain mode. By doing this over and over again, we are simply wasting time.
- Less Learning ? When you are simply rushing and ?multi-tasking? and not focusing on each task, it?s very hard to learn anything from it. And that lack of knowledge, will probably cost you time in the future (when doing similar tasks).
- Get 2 peaces of paper, and a timer.
- On one peace of paper: Draw a Face, a Cat, and a Dog. Draw them all at the same moment (multi-task). For example, start with the dog?s head, then move to the cat, then to the face, then back to the cat, etc. That?s exactly what you do when you multi-task.
- On the other paper: Draw a Face, finish it properly. Then draw a Cat, finish it properly. Then draw a Dog, finish it properly.
- Compare the results (both time and quality).
