I currently have a website domain and hosting. I have never done a blog before and would like to add one to my site.

I was wondering if it is better to just use a free blog host or if i should suck it up and pay for one?

Also, since I all ready have a domain and host can I have my blog hosted through my host "godaddy.com" or is that an extra cost?

Any input would help.

Thanks.

I recommend get your blog set up and then move to a payed host. because depending on the time you spend on it you should stay on a free host until you get 100-300 unique visitors a day

Free one sux..... you will never know when your blog going to be kick out by them. If you find 6-7 dollars per month is too expensive for you, there are cheaper option in DP forum.

Can blogger blogs be moved to your own hosting and domain anytime you like? How does 'moving to a paid host' work?

Godaddy works fine for Wordpress. I don't think they have fantastico, so you'd have to upload the Wordpress files via FTP. My Godaddy-hosted Wordpress blog works fine.

Thanks, Ill have totry out the wordpress.

You would need to have SQL and PHP on you site. IF these aren't available, then you could get a blogger account and have a subdomain mapped to it.

It is better to host it in a paid one. Sometimes there are lot of problems with free hosts like pop up ads.
