But do you think they will be charged for it ? They might be charged but won't get any harsh sentence, if they got money they can hire great lawyers to fight it off.

Depends what they were doing with it lol. I think theyre definitely gonna pay the price
edit: it says theyre used for global fraud so im guessing they wont take it easy

No. This isnt the same. What youre talking about is the scam hubs in SEA region where theyll fly you out promising a job and then take your passport once you get there so that youre forced the scam for them. This is a completely seperate issue
