Silos... Do I really need to do this

How important is it in onpage SEO to have a Silo based affiliate website for around 30-50 page site. Where you have a few supporting articles for each main article only for the purpose of ranking it with internal linking? I mean is this really necessary why can't every blog post that is for low competition to low medium comp just be its own article only with good onpage keyword title tag, keyword density and of course a few web 2.0 and maybe a pbn link or 2? Will this silo structure really have a powerful boost big difference?

I did not lose anything. There was a small drop, but it's again higher. But that's not the point, the spike is after I made my site SILO friendly :)
 
Silo works best with ecommerce and other sites too, You just need to spend good amount of time and brain to setup properly.
 
Different people have the different understanding of SILO and I don't know who is right.
So I consider it a myth my friend.
 
Silo's work wonders for small blogs. You can outrank even websites with high DA's if you can build a strong silo on the topic. Even if a certain keyword has low competition, you may not rank for it right away, unless you can prove your authority on that topic.
 
I think properly interlinking to your cornerstone content pages is much more important than keeping a strict silo. I link to my cornerstone content whenever I can (nearly always, since I go out of my way to do it), regardless of what silo/category the article is in.
 
Changed one of my money sites to a silo style set up. Didn't see much of a difference TBH. I don't think I'm the only one either:
