Hello,

On a silo structure, if I put backlinks to my category with 100 posts in, but the page only shows 20 posts per page, will this stop the link juice going to all 100?

No. There's something in WordPress called pagination. There's a link on the category page that links to another page (page 2) that contains 20 more posts and so on. However, the posts on the first page will get more link juice than those on the 3rd, 4th...nth page.

is there a good wp plugin for related posts which can increase the effect of Silo?

The link juice will become diluted as you go deeper into the category pages. So the first 20 (posts 1-20) will receive more link juice than the last 20 (posts 81-100) that will be buried deeper in the site.

I keep reading to not use related posts with a silo structure.

You can use related posts in a silo structure as long as the related stuff is in the same category. If done perfectly, it won't break the silo, lowers the bounce rate and makes the visitors stays much longer on the site.

That is true if related posts will bring up posts from other categories. On YARPP, you can use a really high influence on category, this should not break the silo.
