Hi all, my first post here!
I'm setting up an authority blog. So far I've been interlinking my posts randomly, using in-content links to other posts where relevant. However, I'm thinking of going for a silo structure after reading much praise for it, but there are a few things I'm having trouble with.
1) One of the main ideas of silos is that content within a silo is tightly interlinked, but silos never link to each other. When people talk about "linking" in this context, do they mean just d*foll*w links or any kind of links?
User experience is one of my top priorities, so I would like to link between silos where it's highly relevant for the reader. I would also like to have links to the About and Privacy Policy pages from all pages on the site. Can I do this by nofollowing these links or does that still contaminate the link structure too much?
2) How to divide content into silos when the topics in my niche seem to overlap a lot?
I have many articles that could fit into different silos. Should I just "force" each article into one specific silo even though some other silo could be just as relevant? Is there a better approach?
Thanks for any answers!
