    Hey guys,

    I´m currently working on an authority page which is all about diets and I got 2 questions, maybe someone has a clue.
    I am applying the siloing technique by making each diet which is included on the website one silo. To get a good overview over the articles within a certain silo, I am deploying a custom html widget in the sidebar which shows the different topics and subordinated articles in a hierarchical structure.

    1. Is that a good idea in terms of SEO, building this overview?

    Then, lets say one of those diet silos has the following structure (this is what the widget shows as well):
    -Diet Z
    -Phases
    -Phase 1
    -Phase 2
    -Phase 3
    -Nutrition
    -Dos
    -Don´ts
    etc.

    2. Let´s say a user is currently reading the phase 1 article. As I said, in the sidebar there is a widget showing the exact structure which I showed above. Is that from the SEO perspective a good idea? Or should I rather only show the different phases within the category "phases" within the silo "Diet Z"? How far should I break down the overview widget? Or should I stick to always showing the complete content of the respective Silo?

    Keep in mind that I´m asking this from the SEO perspective, not the user experience perspective.

    Home Page:
    A silo structure is inter-linking to let the link nice flow all over your site.

    For example :

    Homepage --> category1 ---> Post1

    Post 1 --> post 2
    Post 1 --> post 3
    Post 1 --> Category 1
    Post 2 --> post 3
    Post 2 --> post 1
    Post 2 --> category 1
    Post 3 --> post 1
    Post 3 --> post 2
    Post 3 --> Category 1

    Post 1 would gives juice to post 2,3,category 1 while post 2 would give juice to post 1,3, category 1 etc...

    Basically, you leaking out power to your posts/pages from one to another

    Hi,
    thanks for your reply.
    I´m aware why to use a silo technique, but I´m wondering if it makes sense to show a sub navigation menue silo specific as well (in addition to the normal navigation menue).
