Signature Rules?

This is an excerpt from our Forum Rules:
5. SIGNATURES.
You must be a member of the forum for 30 days and have 50 quality posts
before you will be allowed to use a signature on this forum. In order to use
links or images in your signature, you must be a "Donor." You may post 2-3
affiliate links or 1 banner (728x90 pixels max) in your signature. Do not use
a font size larger than 2, crazy fonts/colors, sound clips, excessive smileys,
or anything else annoying. Including calls to action such as "PM me"

Okey now I feel stupid telling OP to read the rules, but I got a question popt up as well..
What's the reason behind not being allowed to include "PM me" in the signature?
Where does the line go? I can link to a thread with my contact details but not leave my contact details in the signature?
Does this include checkout forms and opt-in forms?
I've also seen people having banner AND links in their signatures, is that allowed? The rules says no.

The Signature link takes to a webpage where everything, all conditions about the business, is out there in the open, and the forum moderators and everyone else can see it. PM takes you to a closed personal meeting platform where there is every scope to dupe/scam you, and as the PM system doesn't give everyone else to keep vigil on what's happening, it is not recommended at the beginning of any (forum) business. Once you both get more known to each other, you may use PM for your ongoing business.
The Signature space is there for a purpose: to get exposure to a business webpage, and that space needs to be within control of the forum owner, admin, and moderators -- it's not there as any Jr VIP or higher-ups' personal property in a sense that they can use it to call others to open private one-on-one business or otherwise channels.
It's my personal opinion, and that's the best way I can tell you about it. In short: The link in Signature space needs to be open for scrutiny by forum authorities AT ALL TIMES, and a "PM me" link can never be that. The rule is there for our own safety, that "our safety" includes all members' safety.

Of course you don't qualify for it... read: You need to be a DONOR...

If you have under 100 post points, you can pay $97 to become a DONOR.
By doing so, you will be allowed to have a signature with a banner or with
text links and a larger capacity PM inbox. However, some people make the
mistake of thinking that after they have become a DONOR and have reached
100 post points, they will automatically be upgraded to Jr. VIP. That is NOT
correct. You would have to pay ANOTHER $97 for the Jr. VIP upgrade. The
advantage of becoming a DONOR (pink name) is that you will have a larger
capacity PM inbox and you can have a signature.
If you wish to wait until you have reached 100 post points, you can pay
$97 and go straight into Jr. VIP status.
