*SICK* ScrapeBox Method for Finding & AUTOMATICALLY GETTING Your Competitors Backlinks

Why is it people insist on asking questions that was addressed in the very first post? His instructions couldn't have been more detailed. I'm currently on page 3 for a term that is searched for 1,500,000 times per month, with 124,000,000 competing sites (pretty good to get that high). I'm going to use this method to see if I can make it to page 1, what an accomplishment that would be. Cudos to the OP

What MS can do in terms of backlink research, SB can do as well. What I like about SB is it's flexibility for users.

I imagine this works on some sites. I've tried the method with 2 sites, on both, it only found a small percentage of backlinks.

One site has 1.4 million links, all going to the home page. Yahoo also shows 78,000 pages.

For both sites, SB seemed to find only some of the internal pages, and only some of the backlinks. In all, I was able to locate about 14,000 backlinks, or about 1%. This is very helpful, this is definitely a useful technique. However, it would be that much better to be able to truly locate all of the backlinks.

There are a lot of smart people here - can anyone figure out how to get 100% of the backlinks for a site that has a lot (say over 100,000 or over 1,000,000)? In particular, when most of them may be linking to just the home page.

great post - i wish someone would write an ebook or something chock full of stuff like this for scrapebox.

Hello,
I have been working with sb a few days and love it, but when I tried the link: portion of this here is what i got.

1. if I type Link:youdomaindotcomin the google search box i get 56 results
2. if I set sb to custom and type in under keywords and then harvest I get 20
3. Just in case I was not understanding I put Link:yourdomainnamedotcom at top and got 20 too.

Any idea why its different?

I think I found my problem. I had time set and of course when using google link: in a browser it does not. I'm running sb in slow mode now so I cant check, but I think thats it. thank you anyway. Great program

This technique does no work for me. I only get 10 results per search engine. Something must be wrong anyone have any tips?

Use custom footprint as suggested and use these commands:

link:http://yourcompetitorswebsite.com

linkdomain:yourcompetitorwebsite.com

Link command doesn't work anymore without the http:// in front. However linkdomain does. Link provides narrow link research to a page on the website while linkdomain will show all links to a domain regardless of page.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your opinion jodys. But i am still only getting 1 connection per search engine

sorry, I think i misread or cant get my head around this one. I read it 10 times :):

Here is how you do it:

1. You go into ScrapeBox and select custom footprint. Then, you type in link:domainyourcompetingwith.com

Then you select harvest. This is going to get all the sites that link back to your competitors site from Google & Bing. Save that list to a .txt file.
In my version of SB you can choose google, yahoo, bing, and aol for the harvest, so why this next step:

2. Now, go to ScrapeBox Add-Ons and download the ScrapeBox Backlink Checker. This add-on allows you to get all the sites that link back to a domain from Yahoo Site Explorer (which typically shows WAY more backlinks than any other search engine).

Use that to find the backlinks for the same domain you used in step 1.

Add these to the .txt file you saved in step 1. Put them all in ScrapeBox and remove duplicate URLs. Save this new list to a .txt file.

good post and Im using the first way for long. But still, SB DOES NOT show some websites's backlinks EVEN if the site is ranking at #1 in google for lots of terms. I really have no idea as WHY a site is ranking #1 for YEARS for very competetive keywords whereas SB ONLY shows 2-3 pr2 and pr1 links. I'll shoot a PM to OP mentioning the terms and the site name so that he can easily spot what's going on

It only scrapes and shows what is indexed as backlinks in the search engines (yahoo still showing the most but being limited at 1k)

Your more than welcome to send me a PM and i will get the exact backlink count for the website to give you a proper idea on why they are ranking 1st for the keyword.

The OP method is good but when there are 10,000s linked to 1 page it would be great to be able to get them all so I would appreciate it if you care to share your method!

He is not using SB or other similar software but something all together. I know but will avoid naming it. If you can't find on your own then you should buy from him, I will say very economical.

Quick question for the OP:

Are you just blasting all these to your money site? Or does this work well with using 2.0 sites? Just wondering which is the best not only to play safe, but to rank well too.

Thank you!

Thanks for the excellent method. I went through the process, but it turns out not many of my competitors have very many back-links at all.
