Showing your ads offline

Has anyone in here had success with going a route different than PPC/CPM/Etc advertising.

I was looking at Small Biz Opp Magazine and they want almost $700 to put a black and white ad in their magazine.

I know its a different method but if you have a short and catchy domain and a good landing page it could work (maybe I'll even get the balls to try it

ive heard a few people talk about doing this, the results are good, IF You play your cards right.

find a magazine, find out what niche it is, find what that niche wants and needs, provide it in a site w/ a good domain name, and make an ad (and be picky on where its at, placement is key in a magazine)

ive heard both great things and huge losses from this, gotta know what ur doin.

if you advertise on specific trade journals or magazines its pretty good. I really havent had a lot of luck, i drove traffic to my site, thats all.. still waiting on results
