Should we use tags for blog posts?

Blog tags are useful for some specific content. You can use them in your blogs and it won't be harmful to your website.

I use tags as a separated way to categorize my posts other than categories.
For example, if I have a website about how to fix home appliances, I'd use the appliance itself as the category and the tag to describe the problems. I found it useful for interlinks.

Depends on what you’re trying to rank for. Also depends on what your blog is related to.
I mean, you can’t put too many tags technically. But, my personally opinion is that blogs with too many tags can look clunky and can be confusing to Google too.

Yes, The ability to tag archived posts can help you keep them organized updated, and repackaged

These are not harmful. I sometimes found sites where tag pages rank for a low competition keyword, without any content.

I have a website that is built by fetching You Tube videos. You Tube videos tags were imported and became Wordpress tags. They got crawled and ranked.
Now many of the tag pages in that website are indexed and are ranking well and regularly sending traffic to my website.

Sometimes yes.
Why not all time? Because I have too many websites and a limited team to work upon all of them. So cant manage to optimize each and every tag page.
But I truly believe that if I could optimize all these tags pages the traffic will improve.
(Since you asked this, I am feeling an urgent need to visit my site and start optimizing remaining tags
)
