Hi everyone, do pages like contact, about us, FAQ, terms and privacy have to be indexed, or do they have the "no index" tag?

My personal opinion: I wouldn't index them (maybe except for the FAQ page and probably the about us page, depending on what its purpose is). Therefore, you can set a "no index" tag. I think it is also more or less common sense not to index contact, terms, privacy and pages like that.

These are actually important pages about your website and provide valuable information about your website and it's management. Why would you not want them indexed?

Not like having them indexed would hurt your site in anyway.

Do not need to be indexed as they offer standard information not crucial for SEO.

You should noindex them if you don't want them to appear on serps, but it won't make any noticeable difference on your site's performance.

I would prefer to index these pages as it provide valuable info about the website.

I usually noindex terms and privacy pages - anything that is basically boilerplate content. They're usually linked to from every page on a site via the footer, so it's not like the user won't be able to find them if needed, and it's not like those pages are going to attract worthwhile links of their own.

contact, about us, FAQ, terms and privacy pages should be indexed, so Google can build more trust to website

It’s best to use the "noindex" tag for these pages to focus Google's attention on your main content.

It’s generally good to index pages like "Contact," "About Us," and "FAQ" for SEO and user trust. However, "Terms" and "Privacy" pages can have a "noindex" tag, as they aren’t crucial for search rankings

These pages are important for site credibility & value, my advice is to index these pages ;)
