Should the journey section count posts?

He has spammed the same message to all threads, including my thread in the journey section, which isn't actually a journey but a directory: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...reads-post7358988.html?highlight=#post7358988
It's pretty clear, he doesn't even read the thread, or title before pasting his post.

You can go through pages and pages of his short and crappy posts. Is this allowed? He's really cluttering the forum with short posts.

Should posts in the journey section count, considering most are "good luck"?

I will say, as a reader, that is something that is aggravating.. You find a post that is worthwhile and continue reading for other insightful and informative posts, and all you see are copied generic responses... You make a good suggestion.. Hope something gets done..

Maybe newbie posts in Journey shouldn't count until they have 50 regular posts already or something like that.
 
What we should do is ban the spammers like this guy. There are a few on the journey section

Hardly a newbie, joined 2011 and over 400 posts. (Mostly this crap though)

What's the point of him doing this though? If he wanted JR VIP he already has the required posts, unless he is waiting until he looks like a serious authority on here with xxxx posts, maybe?????
 
Yeah, I noticed that guy too, we should have a "journey man" member category for guys like this, they're not "regular members"
 
The old rep system worked fine for putting a real value on bums like this but that got taken away for other reasons.

No idea why they don't just ban people like that instantly. This shit is more obvious now because there is a lack of quality posts. Now the pure shit and spam is more obvious. Pretty sad.
 
What type of requirements are there for creating BST threads? I was thinking he was trying to reach some goal to try and sell something... I will say I have a tendency to look at the number of posts when reading, as a slight indicator of how much stock to put in what they are saying... I really like the rep system as well.. Now all I have to go on is blue names and other colors, which unfortunately doesn't really help either in some cases...

I have really started to only pay attention to certain members that I know I have gotten useful information from in previous thread or my own conversations... And find myself skimming a thread of an 'unknown' user for some of these guys replies, before even reading... I probably have missed out on some gems, but I have also avoided some bull along the way...

I know you will, I have no doubt in that.

It's just, I was hoping to talk about some long term solutions rather than short term.
 
I would suggest that posts for the OP should count, but posts for the repliers should not count. I think it would keep the journey threads from being inflated with good luck posts over and over again.
 
Yes some people abuse that section of the forum, but there's plenty of excellent journeys that shed a lot of light on various online industries. If we as a community start removing every little feature that was abused a bit then what would be left?

Just report the few misfits and let's roll on from there. Actually OutOfTown does make an interesting suggestions besides the fact that in my personal opinion some journeys are worth more in value than the BH SEO subsection.

Yeah, the replies and updates from OP should count but others not. That's a good idea.

That probably wouldn't change much. Most of the time the people that are posting just to increase post count aren't paying attention to what forums add to post count and which don't. They just post a bunch of short pointless posts in whatever threads they find handy and hope the count increases.
 
i pointed out this 2 weeks ago on a thread , there is a Jnrvip he comments on every journey thread saying "Keep updating the thread untill you reach xx amount " i asked him to atleast spin his comments once a while but he doesnt bother #bomba cloud
