Imagine I hava a keyword to target which doesn't relate to any other keyword that I currently have.

Should I write a blog post for that specific keyword although it wouldn't reach (for example) 300 words?

Or should I wait and maybe try to join it to the 'best-fit' blog post that I already have and set it up as an h2.
I don't know if that makes sense.

Thanks!

Why do u have to imagine a keyword that wouldnt fit with any other post?

Having a good quality lengthy informative content would contribute more to improving your site metrics. Make sure the article is of 700+words minimum. This would look good.

Improve the article word count with new trend content relevant to your article and also try to write blog post.

thanks for all your answers!

You can make your content longer with questions and answers at the bottom

Long posts will rank easily and important for your SEO strategy. write a blog post of more than 1000 words.

Better go for a long post. Google hat short written article

SEO prof. advice people to use at least 300 words per article. Not less.

Yes short posts are still good SEO. They don't ALL have to be long

If you really wanna rank then check the competition of the keyword. Do some research and check the first page results for the keyword. Check the length and design. Then apply Skyscraper technique of Brian Dean and try to improve the content by increasing length.
May be it will help you.
