Should I use freelancer.com?

be careful with freelancer.com - they have creepy rules - they often charge the freelancers unfairly - read the reviews. upwork is better.

Hey guys, I've been into web development for some years now and I only was able to reach people across my small country, It was hard to get good jobs and I never really knew where should I search for..
I decided to give a try to freelancer.com
But the copetiton there is so big and the prices so low (some are ok)
What should I try?
That particular site is not that good. Upwork may be a better option.

You should definitely register with several platforms (FIverr, Upwork), at least in the beginning, to see what works best.

The difficult part where many new users fail is to get your first customers. Like some mentioned before competition is insane, and people tend to buy from sellers who already have many positive reviews.

A good and perfectly legal trick is to encourage friends, family and local businesses (handout flyers) to buy from you to get your first positive reviews.

If you are looking for more permanent jobs, you should check out these sites:

Tech Job Portals
6nomads.com
angel.co
stackoverflow.com

Companies that connect tech talent with tech companies
They are legit, but some require you to send in a full application (Resume and Cover Letter). So it's a bit more work in the beginning, but definitely worth it.
