If you can collect customer emails then you should drive traffic too, and make more sales!

It is effective just make sure the content that you use in the mail does not look familiar with spammy mails.

Lot of people earn huge with email marketing alone. So, yeah, you can get shit loads of more traffic with it but you need good targeted lists to get good conversions.

Can you clarify what you mean? Are you referring to renting a list, buying lists or sending emails out to a list you've already collected?

Email stuff always works.
Grab the Genuine users list and make a nice template.
In the end, spam & spam
Check the results on analytics and you'll notice the change.
