Should I use a sub-domain for an Amazon store?

I run an Adult niche forum that gets fairly decent traffic. I am trying to branch out into other avenues such as starting a virtual cam studio, creating new forums, and adding an Amazon store. I am wondering if I should add a store as a sub-domain such as: store dot mysite dot com, or if I should get a new domain and try to not just push traffic from my sites, but also rank keywords and try to get organic traffic as well? The reason I like the sub-domain idea is that it's easy, and I think my members would make purchases if they knew it would support the site. I am wondering though how it might effect SEO and if I would be missing out on a lot of organic traffic. The store wouldn't be particularly focused on my niche.

In terms of SEO, the search engines consider a subdomain to be independent of the main domain. However, Amazon could see it differently, as it could attract adult niche visitors from the main domain. You should contact Amazon directly to know whether or not what you are planning would be acceptable.
