Hi guys,

Do you think a content locker is a good idea?
I tried it once and the views just dropped and it didnt make a lot ....
my main monetization is amazon aff but its a very expensive product so im not making a ton of sales i am however getting a lot of traffic.

why do I do ? the niche is beauty & health

will really appreciate a good advice cuz i feel im not maximizing the earnings on this one.

Beauty & Health is still quite a broad niche. Depends on what exactly you are rpomoting, perhaps, you can find digital product to offer from ClickBank or SellHealth? Or you can create your own digital product? Sell, build list, promote affiliate offers, make more money off the backend.

Content lockers look spammy and a bit sleazy, you don't want to turn off your potential customers and damage (cheapen) your brand.

Maybe, think of a good (but less expensive) product that your target market would be interested in and promote it too.

For example, if you were selling those $2,000 cat castles you know that most people will look but can't afford it but on another hand they probably would buy a nice moderately priced little cat tree or a line of grooming products for their pets.

A woman in the beauty niche might check out the new $1000 dollars wrinkle erasing machine or whatever.. so she is concerned about wrinkles but can't afford to drop a grand but she probably would spend 50 or 100 on some creams from a good brand or an ebook teaching her facial massage.

Note: I don't own an ecommerce, just speaking from a consumer's perspective here.

you tried it before and it didn't work.
why would you try it again?
unless you're putting a twist on it, it will have same result.
potential twist: coupon codes

i think in your case affiliate marketing is better than CPA, you can use clickbank

I wanted to add to my post from a consumer's psychology perspective: whatever else you offer them, don't offer them some cheap stuff from Alie Express or cheap knock offs (no offense to drop shippers, it is just a different niche and target market).

People searched for a high end item, they come to your store and you want them to feel good about being there and purchasing something.

If I do a search for 2,000$ cat palaces and visit the store/page out of curiosity I don't want to see cheap stuff (or content lockers) sold next to it because the message it conveys to me is: "This is all what you loser can afford".

Instead, if I find an affordable good quality product (medium range prices) then I can buy it and feel good about my shopping experience. I went to an expensive store and was able to treat myself there. This is about self esteem, self nurturing and ego boost. If you can trick them into thinking that they are purchasing the less expensive item to see how doing business with you goes then more power to you...

Think of it that way: Many women go to Hermes in Paris because it is absolutely awesome. They might not leave with the 10,000 dollars bag but will probably purchase the 200$ scarf or the cologne.

If you have a high end store, you want your customers to feel luxurious when they come in and when they leave.
a) you get at least some money out of them. 100 bucks might not be 2 grands but it is still some money in your pocket that you would not have.
b) you never know, someone's financials might improve and if their original shopping experience was good and they felt validated they will come back.
c) someone suggested building a list and I think this is really an awesome idea. you get to add those people to your list too.

Once again, just some musings from a customer's perspective.
