Should I take SEO plugin suggestions seriously?

I am using AIOSEO plugin to make my articles search engine-friendly. It gives a number of True SEO recommendations.

Here is my question. Should we take SEO plugin recommendations seriously for on-page SEO?

I don't know what recommendations are, but if you don't take them seriously, why you have this plugin in the first place?

Yes, but if you know what you're doing you won't need the plugins much.
 
You should take SEO plugins seriously, but with a grain of salt.

These plugins like long content, even though it is not really needed for many topics.
They will want you to have a certain keyword ratio, which in most cases makes your content less good than it could've been if you used other variations of the keywords.

Anyway, take their recommendations, but consider it advice rather than instructions. Apply common sense and you'll be fine.

For example, many SEO plugins set multiple meta tags that you won't have without them with WP default.

There are plenty of recommendations that are utterly useless. The thing is to know which are and which not.

Personally, I think that SEO suggestions are good if you are working with a VA or some kind of copywriter that it's editing and publishing on your behalf and you need some bare minimums in order to assure that he is doing a good job.

But if you are doing this by yourself, I can't think which of the recommendations could be really useful. Nowadays, most sites that are ranking are not passing those recommendations, they are completely obsolete. SEO has evolved a ton in the past years and it's starting to become really harsh in the on-page part something that any of the current SEO plugins are on-par with the evolution and most SEO pros are simply switching to standalone tools to fulfill this part.
 
Yes you should. (provided you have clear thoughts on what you are doing).

I use Yoast and I follow its recommendation of putting internal links, Keyword density, etc.
It also tells to link out to other sites which I do not follow every time.
 
Yes but dont take it too seriously. Like for example these seo plugins will often lead you to put too much of the exact keyword in the post, which will make a post look unnatural. Their readability analysis is in my opinion also mostly bs because it forces too simplistic wording and short sentences. Its okay for some things, but i wouldnt target reaching the maximum score in any of their ratings.
 
You can do it, but you can also use your own criteria your ideas about how apply SEO but if it makes things easier for you go for it.
 
SEO plugins' suggestions can be good, especially if you are a beginner. But don't waste your time getting the 'perfect score' in whatever plugin you use. I've seen many folks try checking off every single box, in hopes that this is what will get them ranked.

I'd say 60-70% optimization is good enough.

Here are the most important to-dos regardless:

1. Keyword in Title
2. Keyword in one of the subheadings
3. Keyword in at least 1 img alt tag (if you have images)
4. keyword in your URL slug
5. Keyword or modification of keyword in Meta description
5. 1 outbound link to a relevant high-authority page
6. 1-2 internal links to post(s) that MAKES SENSE (very important, don't add generically)
 
Yes, but also use your common sense
Stuffing your article with keywords will do more harm than good
 
Yes, you can consider it if it make sense. Don't over depend on the plugins as well.
 
You can listen to the plugin's suggestion to optimize.
But what matters is your personal opinion. Unique pages will make Google like it more.

Yes, Of course, Seo Plugin Can be useful at the starting point
But I will suggest don't Follow them blindly.
First, you need to understand and analyze That Plugin
 
Yes you should take them seriously because they will help you a lot and make your work easy but don't completely rely on them.
