Should I switch or truck on?

So, I've started a niche site about 2 months ago on a fresh .com domain. I started focusing on backlinks and just picked up an expired domain with a TF/CF of 30+ in the same niche.
Should I abandon the fresh domain and just focus on the established one instead?
What will be the benefit if I used the established domain instead of the new domain?

It will come down to how strong the new domain really is, IMO. TF and CF doesn't mean anything if it's not a high amount of referring domains. Have you also checked its anchors and type of backlinks? Plug it into Ahrefs. Anyways, if the domain is strong, I would say do it.

I would take a good look at the actual links on the expired domain. There may be a reason the person that owned it dropped it.

I would also add some content to it and see if it will index without any problems. Again you want to make sure there was not a good reason it was dropped.

If all the links look good (and better than you have on your existing domain) and Google does not have a problem with the domain then yes using the dropped one could be better. However I would make sure before you start setting up 301s from your existing to the dropped domain.
