Should I Stop My 9-5 Work & Focus on IM?

I think it depends on these factors.

1. How much do you have saved up? At least 6 months living expenses?
2. Have you been making a consistent $2500/mo month after month?
3. Have you bought all the stuff you need to do whatever it is you do?
4. What sort of expenses do you have each month?

And finally the most important question...

ARE YOU ACTUALLY GOING TO BE WORKING THOSE EXTRA HOURS IF YOU QUIT YOUR JOB OR ARE YOU JUST GOING TO BE DICKING AROUND PLAYING XBOX OR WACKIN IT?!?!?!

If you are asking this question, I am pretty sure you are not ready to quit your job. You should quit when you have all your ducks aligned and it is pretty clear the job is holding you back. However if you can do both I would just do that until the job starts interfering too much. And unfortunately $2500 is not enough for someone to go "Pro" in IM unless you live in some 3rd world country.

I quit my job once my IM incoem exceeded my salary. I didnt have much saved at the time but figured i could make more money doing this fulltime. Looking back i should have waited and saved 6 months income before quitting but it all worked out in the end but there were not as many G updates back then. Now i have at least 1 years income saved for a worst case scenario. I would say go for it but only if you have 6 months income saved if you want to be safe. If you have full confidence in your skills to generate income online then you prob would not be asking the question and just go for it! But then also depends if you like your job and work mates and its an easy job that doe snot suck up all your energy. In the end only you can make this decision.

I've been struggling with a similar dilemma for the past few months. I've decided to start putting money aside and take the leap once i have at least 6 months of savings. There's no time like the present

It actually depends on what kind of methods are you working with? Do you think they will last long or are they are temporary methods which might get saturated anytime?

But it looks like you have already left your job so I hope your method will last long. Good luck!

how about taking your time before giving IM a shot.
First, you have to calculate how much money you need for the next months. Once you know the number, see if your IM business going well or not.
Second, if you predict that your IM business is going to be well, stop your 9-5 work, what the hell :p.
Third, if your IM business is slow, don't do any reckless move and try to solve your IM problem first.

try to make IM automate...by investing your day job salary in making websites and seo

Think for an hour. Its a big decision to go for. First of all analyze how much you made in past 6 months through Im and how much you trust on your money making skills that you can earn more than that with the stability ofcourse in future. You can't leave your 9-5 job untill unless you are sure that you will make money online. ATB ;)

If you are single, then quit if you have enough saved to live comfortably for at least 6 months
If you are married, make that a year
If you have kids, make that two years

Definitely focus on what is generating more income but keep in mind that you'll need some sort of nest egg to sit on if things go awry.

Don't be scared. Quit your job immediately.

I made $0/day when I quit my job but had $10k saved up.

Now a few years later I do $x,xxx/day... Fuck people who say its not possible, it definitely is.

Pull the trigger, NOW. Quit your job NOW or you will hate yourself months / years down the road.

Start gradually.....don't quit your job until you're earning at least $50/day online, then start spending more time on IM.
