Should I start this blog?

Hi. I'll keep it short. I earn my bread from Internet Marketing. In my spare time, I was thinking to start a blog on latest news about Search Engines & SEO, because I like to write on these topics. I know it's big and requires great level of consistency, but I've zero experience with blogging.

I have only 2 questions:


  • Do you think I should start this?
  • Do I have to rank the blog posts or just write daily updated SEO news?

I'm a beginner when it comes to blogging, but I'm not dumb, so educate me.

I'd give it a go, what have you got to lose. If you know about the subject then do it. If i was you i would put adverts on the blog pointing to your other business, you might get more work that way.
 
Indeed, what do you have to lose?
The chances of failing are high, but if you don't try you'll be a failure by default.

As a newbie don't rely on SEO.
If you don't know how it works or what you're doing, you'll rank by chance/luck (as time flies by).
But promote your blog on various industry related forums (no spam please).

Maintaining a good blog takes a lot of time.
Do you have some time left?
If so, do what you enjoy and start a blog. I wouldnt do that much offpage SEO to it, if you post great articles, people will share your stuff and you blog will rank itself.

Go for it ..But twist it in your own way so that it look like a new thing over internet. If you successfully accomplish it yo u will get success.

Before you start writing make some research on onpage seo. Install wordpress. Install yoast.
You will get to it.
 
Guys, Thanks for presenting your problem. Here, you told you earn your bred from internet marketing so normally anyone can think you know more about Blog but you told another. However, In first question you wanted to know you will start a blog or not. Here, I wanted to tell you that if you wanted start it then all content should be unique. Thus you can start but for ranking you have to learn more and know more about SEO. Then you will success in these project.

Yes, you can do it, but learn how SEO works. Don't copy and rewrite articles that you will be posting on your site, write your own. Make an effort to learn more about SEO and write your experiences and pitfalls exploring the SEO world, and then post it on your website. That would sounds like a journey and you're going to share that journey to your blog readers.
 
Writing a blog is an interested work. If you can write quality and informative content and engage with readers in all social media channel, then you may go with this website.
