Should I start monetizing my account ?

Hey mates !

I have a computer setups account with 10K followers.
Until now, I was responding to the people who came to me and asked me shoutouts, promoting posts, or any service that can be paid for.... that my account wasn't bigger enough. That it wouldn't be worth neither for them nor for me.
But now I've reach the 10K followers, should I continue to reject the monetization proposals ?
If so, until how many followers ?
Need your advices.

To be completely honest 10k followers isn't much unless the account is based around a fairly competitive niche like luxury travel destinations, high-end fashion, etc...

There's not reason why you can't monetize now but it probably wouldn't be worthwhile. I would suggest holding off until you have more followers (50-100k?).

IMO it all depends on the accounts engagement. You could have a 5K or smaller account with killer engagement and make some money with it. I'm not too familiar with the niche you are in but if you are getting offers for paid promotions or shoutouts why not take they money?

Thanks for your answer. I have an engagement that varies quite a bit (like everyone here I guess ahah). Some of my posts block at 4% engagement while others exceed 20%. I made an average and I end up around 9%.
You both are right, 10k followers isn't much and I'm scary that, if I start to do shoutouts and promotions, it will kill my engagement and so my account.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to accept only the shoutouts by story..
