Should i set up my own ad network? Will it make money?

We all know there are tons of ad networks out there... some good some bad.

But i have been thinking for a while why don't i set my own ad network up?

I can't really see why it wouldn't work?

I planned to put affiliate offers a network ads and depending on the payout i will give a good rate of CPC. $0.5-$1

Also in the long run i won't have to put affiliate offers if i am lucky enough to have paid advertisers but i know how hard this can be.

Am i living in a dream world?

I think you may be underestimating the amount of development it would take to set up a back end or user interface for advertisers and publishers. You also have to track clicks and have some basic fraud detection in place or you will never keep advertisers.

the fact that your asking a bunch of stranges if you think it will make money with no other information tell me you haven't given this much thought, let alone created a business plan with profit/loss projections?

A lot of research in this area is absolutely necessary. You can check out some youtube videos on ad networks to see how much is involved and to understand all the important factors which are vital.

Guess thats a no then
I just wanted to create something that wouldn't screw over the publishers like all the ad networks seem to be doing these days!

You could do your own ad system on your own popular websites. You just need to have some advertisers other than Adsense which is easy. Go buy some traffic that can click on the ads, and you charge per cpm and click (make it affordable and cheap).

Not to be discouraging, but it would be VERY VERY VERY hard work to get to be as good as bidtraffic or adsense... it would DEFINITELY pay off though.

The work involved would be tremendous, don't even get me started on the investment.

Who would advertise with a new company that has their ads placed no where amongst the internet?

It would be pretty tough to start one. If you could pull it off, you're in the clear. But you need to ask yourself; why use XX Marketing the 2 month old business when you can use Google Adsense the successful leading ad network? Kind of a tough market.
