Today i posted an ad on CL selling my laptop cuz i really need the money. Selling it for 150. got several calls from local people around the area. but got this one email from this guy from Nigeria who offered 220 plus shipping for me to send it to him there (cant help but to think Nigerian scammers). I just dont wanna get fuked by paypal as i've heard many stories of buyers doing charges and sellers losing their product and money. so should i send it?

O okay so you are asking $150 for your laptop and someone is offering you $220. They also live in Nigeria, and you found them off Craigslist. If that doesn't spell LEGIT then I don't know what does.

really i shouldnt have even considered sending it. here's what he also said

Hello xxx,
(I am offshore) , I am a steward working in a ship and I have been on duty for two weeks and the ship will only dock in 3 weeks time which will be late for him to make use of the laptop. I have no other means to make the payment except using paypal which I believe is a safe and easier means to make payment.
Thanks for your understanding

And you're 100% serious about this thread too? Why in the world would anyone be searching on CL looking for a f'ing laptop when they live in another country?

Actually have fun with the scammers, I had one to send me their fake check once, the funny thing is that he mailed it to the white house under the name of Joe Biden.

You already know the answer

Send it to me and I'll give you $5. That's $5 more then you'll otherwise get if you do this...

Opps. Sorry about that BlackxHat, I'll have to find another person to rip off.

what is the specs of your laptop? because i am looking for one. But i am not US, from Philippines.. Let me know if you are interested..

But about the nigerian thing, if you are worried, maybe you can just sell your laptop to one in you locality, just to be sure.. :)

lol @ this one guy from Nigeria, what are the odds.
the inflating of the price alone is a dead giveaway, it's actually the only reason you want to even bother questioning your common sense:

BUY NONE GET 2 FREE

wow lol someone who is smart enough with computers and internet savvy enough to come here is about to fall for the ancient nigerian goods scam. they been pulling this since 95 on ebay/whatever was before ebay.

Just go down to the closest laundry mat and place a piece of paper with tear off strips with your phone number on them saying your selling the laptop. Some lower income people would be interested in buying a used one.

Yup. And don't ever do anything with a Nigerian - seriously.
