If the site was 3 years old, had very consistent history and a variety of traffic sources, then 3x is a possibility. It's certainly not common, though.

It sounds a bit odd that someone would just randomly email you to buy it, so it's probably some sort of valuation/broker scam. Make sure they pay you with Escrow.com and you should be fine, though. If it was an email from latonas, tell them where to shove it
