Should I Quit My Job?

Your friends are right imo.
While your income depends on something you don't own (Adsense) you ain't safe.
...
As of now, if smth happens to your Adsense you're fucked over.
As @jazzc said, better put some money in the bank while you have your day job that covers your day-to-day costs. Having done this you will stay safe and will have money to invest in future.

The same is true of his current job/employer too, though.

I did sth. similar, although i made equal $ online as in my corporate slave job in 2012...

if your "job" does not suck, keep it.
sum u your online cash and invest in either your own appartmen, or index stocks...

if the jobs sucks, quit it.

and NEVER listen to ANY advice or corporate slaves, that havent sold a lollipop in kindergarten to someone!

that' why I ask my 80+ year old grandma for some hard stuff about live.. she was self employed till she was 50..
ask those dudes. not the 8-5 guys...

Sack your job and follow your dreams. ......Make it work.... Just imagine you dropped dead at work. How horrible would that be, Live life to the full, do what you want.

I think my question was not answered at the right place. You all guys working at home IM. So mostly you answer was "yes - leave you daily job". This is something like - I enter into the Church and ask "I just want to know - should I believe in God".

Its not that, if you are making in 1 month the same amount you are making in 1 year with your regular job I think the question answers itself. How many hours a day do you spend in your regular job and in your IM? I bet that if you put all those hours of "safe-job" in your IM you will be making far more in no time.

I still don't understand how anyone makes money in IM - I've been trying for months and I've made £3.50 if you don't include all the money I've lost :/

I'm crap at this hahah

I do both. I work a 9-5 for the benefits, networking, paycheck, 401k, and stability. But I do ORM and work on other web projects on the side. I make more money in far less time doing ORM/IM work, and have a five-year plan to go full time, but I want to make sure I have enough of a safety net to be fine if something catastrophic happens.

My thoughts, if you are making a year's salary in a month with AdSense, why not continue your job for three more months, sock away all the AdSense money so you have a rock solid savings buffer, and then quit your job (amicably)? Don't burn bridges. Don't set yourself up for failure. Don't listen to your friends. Don't listen to people on here.

You're clearly already apprehensive of our responses, so it sounds like your mind is made up. Now this just the "quit the rat race" people who have never tried to get a day job in a field they enjoy and derive happiness from circlejerking each other.

Taking risks is great. If you do your due diligence. You haven't. I guarantee it.

Listen to your heart. You know the answer :)

I'll share a personal story . . .

I've been doing 9-5 SEO for 8+ years

I finally decided to take matters into my own hand and started consulting.

If my 9-5 goes or they fire me, I will have somewhat respectable income to continue on (2 clients). My savings will stop (Saving good money with my 9-5)
but income won't.

So I currently have three sources of income. 9-5 and 2 SEO clients.

Third I'm developing which I hope to make at least 5 figures monthly with (My own website).

Once I start making 5 figures ($300 to $1000 a day) with this site, even then I might not quit my job - Just have more savings :)

So yeah think about both. Not just income but savings as well.

Unless you are making real money, in my book that is $3000 to $5000 a day from your sites on a consistent basis (6 months), don't quit.

What fuckin' book are you reading where it takes $3,000 a day to qualify as "good money"?

3000-5000/day??? That's like saying unless you make 150k/month, don't quit your 1k/month job. Da phuck....

The old "should I quit my job" thread is storming up the BHW charts lately. Could it possibly knock "I have $1000 to invest" off number two, or could it go all the way to the top and knock "how can I make $5 online sirs" off its long held number one spot?
Every post i see of yours makes me lowl.

This is a risky choice in a very risky life.

In my opinion, life is too short to spend it working for "the man" forever. Like seriously think about what a rat race regular full-time job does to your life on a basic level:

49 hours a week (assumes a 1 hour lunch break per day) = 98 days straight of 24/7 work life per year.

6 to 8 hours of sleep a night (use 7 as an average) = 106 days per year of sleep per year

Without factoring anything else like how long it takes to get to and from work, etc....you are looking at 204 days of your life per year being spent doing what? Sleeping and selling cell phone plans? You're basically only "living" less than half your life.

Fuck that.

Well everyone has different goals. One of my goals is also to take my mother country back from Radical Islamic Terrorists which will require some $$$. So yeah just looking ahead. Plus I want to get a black on Red Porsche Cabriolet and a nice 2 to 3 bedroom penthouse. Just this year I broke the 6 figure a year mark for the first time ever so thinking bigger :) Overall, I need that piece of mind that this world is finally mine and as someone mentioned, not controlled by 'the man'. For me to get that, I need $1000 a day. Stretch goal is $3k to 5k a day.

Almost the EXACT reason why I started consulting *knocks on wood*. Thx!

if you have enough saving in your bank account. you can quit your job. but make sure about saving because if internet income is stopped you can survive until your new job not finding.

my answer to you is to read the new book of robert kiyosaki, the rich dad and poor dad, the 20th editionlll

and...dont rely on adsense or any method, invest in yourself and build skills, with those skills you can make money, and that is your first asset,
