Should I promote my linkwheels? And Why??

Hey there..

so my basic question is, should I promote the linkwheels i create other than social bookmarking and pinging..

I ping and bookmark all of my linkwheel spokes..

but what im asking is shud i promote it further, like blog comments and other advance backlinking?

the reason im asking why is because the time and effort I give to getting backlinks to my linkwheel, why dont i use the same effort to get backlinks to my main money blog?

is promoting my linkwheel better than getting direct backlinks to my site?

My linkwheels make money because lots of my properties crowd out page 1 of the Google serps. If the money site ranks too, it's just a bonus.

Comment spam to the properties is an essential part of this process. I aim to have 8 good links to each property in a month. It doesn't sound like much, but I've got hundreds of properties to deal with.

To save time for this, I don't bother bookmarking or pinging.
