    Hello Everyone,

My site is now 1 year and 10 months old. I haven't used any Blackhat tools on it yet and it's ranking position 29 for a very competitive keyword (29,200,000 results in Google). All of the domains that are within the first 10 - 15 results are atleast 5-10 years old. I'm thinking of doing a SENuke blast on the site but I'm unsure if this would be safe? The site gets about 30 visits from Google a day and if it were to reach the 1st page that would increase to around 1,000 which would be amazing. Is it even possible for a domain to rank over sites that are 5 years older? Should I take the risk? What do you guys think? Should I do a blast with SENuke? Do you think I'm safe? I'm also using the free trial of SENuke which doesn't include the indexer.

I would also consider hiring a freelance SEO if anyone is interest. PM fore more details and I'll give you the site details to see if you could help.

    Thanks

First, #29 with 29M results means nothing. Understand that it's irrelevant if there are 1M results or 500M results; it makes NO difference to competitiveness.

Competitiveness from an SEO perspective is function of who's in the top 10-50.

Have you heard the SEOs and the Lion story? It goes something like this...

2 SEO's are in the jungle, and they spot a lion. One sits down and puts on some training shoes. The other says "Why bother... You ain't gonna outrun that lion..."
The first one replies, "I don't have to outrun the lion... I've only got to outrun YOU..."

    ;-)

The point with SEO, is that you're not competing with 29M pages; you're competing with the top 10-50 (depending on your market). Only those matter.

So... You could have 500M results, and the top 10 are all completely non-optimised and easy to out-rank, or you could have 100k results and struggle to get in the top 100 - because there is so much serious SEO competition. Often, the number of results is in parity with the competitiveness, but very often not; and it will give you a false sense of security. Judge against the ones you need to beat - not the entire number.

Next... #29 ain't great, unless you've got a huge market, so you need to push it up.

I don't use SENuke myself, I use a large set of other tools, but as long as you build 1st tier links through decent content/web 2 properties (with 'reasonable' content that would pass a quick human inspection), and then send 2nd & 3rd tier links using more spammy methods (and you can add a further protective layer by going through a 301 redirect - like bit.ly), you'll be fine. Just ramp up the numbers bit by bit, over a few week, giving G a few days to react each time, and watch the dance. If it starts getting really unstable, wait until it settles (although sometimes you just need to push on through - but that's a judgement call from experience.)

    Good luck!

30 visitors a day sounds like too little.
I think you can do a conservative SEO.

What about the age of the domains ahead of me? Is it possible to out rank sites that are so much older? And for the sites in the top 10 I would say only 50% of them are optimized.

Start blasting the shit out of it. YOu have nothing to lose if you are getting 30 visitors a day. Blast blast blast blast. Like the guy said above, create tiers tho.

Yes you can beat older sites though it can take more work.

Not sure I would just start blasting though, a bit of planning is in order.

What I would do is work out a plan for the next three months. Start modestly and increase your link building gradually over those three months. How many you start with depends on how much link building you are doing now and how many links you already have on the site. Decide on what that max numbers of links you can build in a week and that number would be the number you want to be doing at three months. Depending how many links you already have start between 10-25% of that and gradually work your way up to your max.
