Hello,

Simple question, do I get any benefits if I no-follow all links in my category navigation sidebar? This sidebar is available on every category, sub-category and list page. Only thing this category navigation is not available are homepage, cms pages (5-10) and single product pages.

My understanding is that "link juice and overall power of the page" is diluted among all the pages in category navigation sidebar or thats wrong reasoning?

Say I link to;

sub-category-1 and that link is diluted among 100 links I have in category navigation sidebar, is it true?

What you guys think?

If you do not with rank categories - you can nofollow it.

so best would be to no-follow all sub-categories and leave ******** on all main categories, right? this way all link juice from all the sub categories, products etc. will be directed to categories, am I thinking right?

Yes, you can nofollow sub-categories you do not wish to rank.
Link juice from all the sub categories, products etc. will be directed to categories - if on that pages will be links to categories and that pages will have some backlinks.

The best in my opinion will be to add links of categories on homepage.
And build backlinks to homepage and categories.

yes make them no-follow or redirect them (depending on your taxonomy)

Categories are sometimes interesting, in fact you can introduce some content on them (in the category description, if your theme support this). Many categories rank well and they serve as fantastic hubs for deploying links, so taking advatange of the better performing is sometimes an smart move

But if you categories receive virtually zero visits, you can just noindex,d0follow them (keep the d0follow because they will at least serve as hubs as they meant to be)
