Should I move from Shopify to WordPress?

SEO-wise only then WordPress is likely better as you can modify things more easily.
Most Shopify stores fail core web vital tests and your ability to modify things is limited unless you have highly skilled developers on board.
But people still use it and rank well even with these failed on-page tests.
Blogging is not worth it with Shopify unless you have a store attached to your blog, but in that case, your main focus is your store regardless and not the blog.

If you only care about SEO and nothing else matters, then yes, move to WP.

I would prefer to use WooCommerce above Shopify as I do like to have full control over the website and webshop.
Shopify can always close down your business without providing you with any information. Been there, done that.

With Shopify I would feel not comfortable.
You are dependent to corporation - this is the biggest problem.
I am working on new platform now, was considering Teachable or Learndash cloud. No, no no... Going to use wordpress and build it myself for 100% independence.
If I would start ecommerce, never corporation like Shopify.

If you just want to do SEO then WP is better, apart from this you don't have to pay monthly fees on WP as like Shopify. And plus point is Lots of Free Plugins

Shopify is for people who are beginners and don't want a lot of customization. They're just looking for a headache free solution, but that comes at a cost. And yes, SEO is easier on wordpress/woocommerce, but that doesn't mean people are not ranking their shopify stores. In any case you'll have to create a blog for your store.

I mean the main focus is still ecommerce - selling own products. But I would like to also build blog to gain some organic search results in the long term.
