I have a PBN of about 15-20 sites for only one site. I dont plan to use it for more than one site to be safe.
I am wondering if I should link out to authority domains?

The disadvantage: link juice to money site will be highly reduced
The advantage: G bot will think "wow, this site is linking to LAtimes.com Therefore this backlink to money-site.com must be legit. let's rank him higher."

Which one will help me rank higher, linking out or not linking out?

Simple Solution : Link them with No Follow = Gaining Advantage without disadvantage.

But for myself, i always link with Do-Follow , don't ask me why, because SEO is not about getting nitty gritty.
It about just do it.

I will usually link to authority sites. It seems like one of my largest jumps in the Serps was after I made a new site about "the best [my niche] sites on the web" I linked to 10 different high ranking authority sites with a writeup on all of them. I made my link #2 on the list. It shot me up in Google fast! The rank increase could be a coincidence, but it seemed to work.

I usually, haven't tested it on its own to see how it effects my site SEO wise, but I just do it because I read around and said it makes your site look more authoritative.

You could always add the authority links to one of the internal pages of the PBN sites (I'm assuming you're being smart and building out several other unique pages on each site). That way each site as a whole is shown to be linking out in a natural and user-friendly way but you can retain the link juice on the page where you are linking to your money site.

Personally I would just link out on the same page as your money site link but the above gives you another option if you're concerned about sharing juice.

Oh and because of Google's "reasonable surfer" model, you should always try to put your money site link first in the document as it will then receive a greater share of the PR.

Some people ask these types of questions and then wonder why they cannot outrank these "Authority sites"! SMH. Linking to another authority site does not do shit for your site. Do it if your site is shady and you want to use that old "try to make it so it's not obvious the site is shady by linking to an authority site". I call bullshit. All you're doing is making the established authority sites even harder to beat. Just stop it already.

I agree with stevewaller, best solution to be honest.

Does linking to an authority site provide value for your traffic and therefore make your site more useful? Go for it. Link just for the sake of linking? Probably won't help.

If you've got 15-20 sites linking to just one site then sending a few links elsewhere to diversify might not be a bad idea. If the recipient site is relevant it will look more natural to prying eyes. I'd go for it.
