I had a pretty good keyword and nice which I bought of a top provider on BHW. I have a huge pillar article with a youtube video and 5 alt articles on the site. The site has been active for around 8 months. It got me 1 Amazon Affiliate purchase which made me $21.00. Shortly after my account was banned due to a mistake on my behalf. I now have mad another Amazon Aff account and corrected my mistake.

I have invested around $700 into the site up until now on blog comments, high quality PBN links, social shares, content, hosting...

The domain itself is an aged ex-domain and is almost 1:1 with what my niche is concerned around. So perfect.

My target KW gets 9300 searches a month with a kwfinder difficulty of 31.

I jump between position 92 to 63 to 15 for this keyword very often and the site ranks for 430 keywords as of today.

The traffic is awful! We are talking 8-50 organic searches a month. I will post the top 10 current keywords in a gyazo below.

Looks great to me.

I would pump more money into it.

A single sale gives you $21, sell 5 of these a day and it's 100+ which is good for an affiliate site.

How's the competition? What type of sites are there on page #1 ?

Who are the top5?

This is how much traffic top 5 get, 80% of the total search volume.
1: 30%
2: 20%
3: 15%
4: 10%
5: 5%

(according to the niches I have worked on, and it's similar for other people too )

If you can rank your keywords in top5, I would definitely invest more money on the project.

If not, then give me the keyword ;P I will make use of it...

Hey thanks for your reply.

(I interpreted this as being very good when I first started this project)

1) Wayfair
2) Walmart
3) Walmart
4) Amazon
5) Ebay
6) Toysrus

------

What would you recommend from my below options or maybe a combination of them?

Option 1: I was thinking about building around 10 web 2.0s towards my money site, then blasting each 2.0 with around 10k links to give them more juice and wait a month or so for results.

Option 2: Buy more PBN posts.

Option 3: Buy 1-2 legitimate guest posts (priced at $100-200 each)

Option 4: Have myself or a VA do lots of forum posting on related forums.

Note: I just realised I only had 1 OB link in my pillar, I have added 2 more due to it being a large pillar with 20 product reviews.

Btw I have been looking at your post that is why I have been tempted to pump more money into this failed project and what inspired me to make this post :)

2) Walmart
3) Walmart
4) Amazon
5) Ebay
6) Toysrus

Are categories ranked or are these the products?

Are these showing for buying intent keywords like product review, best product etc?

Are there any other affiliate sites on top 15 ?
If no, drop this project :l, keyword isn't good.

Can't really suggest anything before i know what you're up against :)

No buying intent keywords, no other affiliate sites in top 15. They are also all catergories of the product for instance if my product was bowling balls the page links to a catergory page with around 10 bowling balls on it.

I forgot to mention there is also a pinterest at position 9.

Hope that makes more sense of it :)

check what comes up for buying intent keywords, you wont be able to rank past top5 if there are categories involved, i can be wrong but the probability is less.

If there are other affiliate websites for buying intent keywords, i would target it, as the profit will still be good... irrespective of the search volume :)

I do not think the keyword is good for an affiliate site as its not a buyer intent keyword and has ecommerce giants in 1st page.
I am in a same situation with my 1st affiliate site. And now I have found several buyer intent keywords (moderate competition) related to my main keyword and optimizing the site for them. Now I'm not targeting my main keyword. I hope you could try the same.

I wouldn't waste money on paying for third party PBN links. Also, with almost the sole exception (apparently) of bitcoin, if you're asking yourself if you should keep throwing money at something, the answer is usually no. Stupid bitcoin.

Appreicate the feedback guys - I recon I will wait for my Amazon Affiliate time to run out and then list her up on Flippa for someone with a bigger budget to tackle.
