Should I just give up on learning javascript

Live in the present. There is nothing wrong in learning a new skill, you just need to find a good marketplace to sell your skill.

I heard some people say that there is going to be a lot of terrible AI generated code that will need to be fixed by real devs. Whether that's true or if AI is going to overtake us all is up for debate.

Calculators didn't replace mathematicians. Web development will still be very popular and in-demand in the future. However, you do need to learn how to leverage AI to increase your productivity

I’m in my mid twenties and work ten hours a day almost everyday in a dead end job. I always hoped that IM and maybe doing front-end dev work would he a way out and provide with a lot of opportunities in the future, but rveryone is now saying it will be worthless on five years, front end will be forst to go amd so on. I just think what’s the point?
JavaScript is a very strong language in web development, it supports both frontend and backend, if you have a good grip on JavaScript, then use JavaScript with ReactJS and NoteJS. Modern websites are being built through this language. JavaScript is a language that helps you in the front-end and also in the back-end if you have to integrate an API. It is also supported by JavaScript If you want to see your career in web development, then you have to learn ReactJS and NoteJS in MernStack, which cannot be done without JavaScript. Conversely if you have a good grip on JavaScript and you have NoteJS and ReactJS.
Then you can do the next move

Don't get discouraged !! The tech industry evolves but skills like front-end development are still valuable. Keep learning and adapt to new trends.

Front end and back end are two different processes in terms of software development, you should try drawing your backend visually first, before doing your front end piece together.

i feel u bro it gets tough hearing all that doom talk but tbh every field changes and dev work aint going anywhere ppl said the same about seo dropshipping and even design yet they all still alive just keep learning and adapt a bit along the way your skills will always have value don’t quit just cause of what others say

Op is banned but maybe reading but anyway, it's important to say, no do not give up on js, front end these days is more complicated at times than back end.

And guess what, js can also run on server side. If you know front end syntax, the back end syntax is almost, almost the same. Of course you need to understand back end capabilities..

I create every website from nodejs, using a hardened express server and ejs as templating language, the websites are fast as hell, I refuse to take part in the reactjs ecosystem if I can avoid, especially after people started saying now you need next.js. might as well go full server side and he'll no, I don't wanna hear about "complicated" forms regarding state etc.

I actually struggled with learning php , some parts just never clicked with me, I was very happy when node was released and became somewhat mainstream. Of course, node isnt good for everything, but it's good for some things.
