Should I go to University

Hi there. This might be a common question, but I want some personalised tips since it's a very important case to me... I hope you will do.

I am in the year before the last year in high school (Class 11 of 12).

Till now, I am a student with the best marks (All A). Might sound not true, but marks are easier to get on my country as poor of educating system. But I am a student that promises something for future in my country.

This year, I've dropped learning and I think I can't continue to learn the crap out there.

I think why should I learn about Aristotel, Pitagora and other crap, while I can learn something that can make me bucks on IM.

If you were on my position, what would you do?

Btw, I never loved to learn the school stuff.

Please, honest answers.

Don't make the mistake of dropping out. When you are in BHW, you will feel that you can make millions. Being someone here and is making $2k per month, I would strongly suggest to concentrate on studies and to look to IM only on free time. If not, you will regret it and it's going to affect your entire life.
 
If your so sure you can make money online, take a year off and just do go full out. If your not making a good stable income by the end, go to school
 
Dude at least finish high school.

And if you don't know your history you are doomed to repeat it. We learn about the past bc it has a direct impact on our future. Philosophers still follow the teachings of Aristotle; he has influenced this planet in a major way. You may not think that matters bc you have IM but those same philosophies are used in a lot of our marketing techniques, either directly or indirectly.

Besides, what if IM fails for you? What if you're forced to do something else for a living?

I'm not a fan of university bc I feel it's stupid unless you want to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, chemist or something like that. So that's up to you. But at least finish high school.
 
Yes, definitely go to university.
 
finish high school and then take a gap year or two.
 
I have been in your shoes mate. Don't make that mistake. Finish your 12th Class at least get passing marks. After that take a year off and set yourself a goal to make xxxxx per month. Give all you have in that one year.
 
My year 3 drop in progress. Outcome only $100 from last 12 month only from outsourcing. Started AdSense few days ago and let me see how it goes.
 
You should go to university and still do IM while you're there. When you graduate you'll decide better.
 
I've got an MBA with a major in project management and it is nice to have if I want to show my business card or get a job. The question is what do you want to be? Do you want to be an employee or an owner? Do you want to dictate your own freedom and potential or have someone else determine this for you. If you want to get a potentially good job university is a great way to go. If you want to earn and live as you want on your own time then you can learn everything you'd learn in school and more through the internet and the library. As for uni most things you'd learn there are geared toward the most common of scenarios for whatever the subject matter typically is. The problem is in the real world you need to be a better problem solver than you could ever learn in school. If you want to be an owner the internet, and having the ability to ask questions (the right questions) will open more doors than you could ever imagine.
 
Uni, I've done two degrees (accounting and computing). Now embracing IM I know I will never have to worry about money again. Without my earlier education I would still have worries as they provide a plan B and plan C.

Education will also help you dig into niches... stick in, get some life experience but learn IM on the way,

Go to university, it is not the same as high school, in high school you need to learn everything (most things you are not interested in and a small amount of things you are interested in), and its different on university (Im law student and in my high school I didnt have even one subject about law). Also with making money on internet you never know what will happened for example google ban your website and you lose all your hard work and after you finish college and find a job its not so easy to be fired.
 
TBh, i highly suggest you to at least have a uni degree, here are a few reasons:

1. After 3 years of doing IM full time, i can say it is not as easy as many people thinks. And i bet many experienced people here agree with me. The IM game keep on changing constantly, there are so many variables that can totally make your projects winner or loser, pretty much overnight. You might make 1k per day today, or 0$ tomorrow.

2. Uni can actually help you in your IM career, if i can choose again, i probably would study computer science. My major was marketing, not that it is useless, but some programming/ coding skill can be a game changer for your projects.

3. Uni is not that time consuming, 15-20 hours per week at most, you can do IM full time and study part time, pretty much up to you.

4. Meet new people in Uni can be a good experience for your age, and wait, don't forget about the wet pussies too :rolleyes:
 
Yes.

Learning for the sake of learning is a wonderful thing.

You are a baby in this world. It will never be easier for you to continue your education than it is right now (or when you finish high school).

A college education opens your mind as well as other doors of possibilities.
 
One question is, are you making money currently. As much confidence as you might have, it might not be a bad idea to do both, until your earnings are happening. If you are already making money, or very sure and driven to succeed, it might not be a bad idea. However, don't underestimate how going to college can benefit you.
 
I think it boils down to the average income of your country. In my country, the avg is about $500, which is definitely doable in IM.

Just like @phpbuilt named it: it's like being in a sandbox.

While I don't deny that you're getting tons of experience in a college, you should also take into consideration the costs involved. I consider college to be an All-in-inclusive pack, so you're getting out not just with a diploma but still...

I haven't chosen this route, and to be honest I don't regret it, so yeah maybe I'm a bit inclined/biased towards self-teaching.

Nonetheless, I prefer learning by myself, because I can absorb the information at my own pace, and I don't have to go through all the useless information.

I remember one guy who asked for someone to make him a captcha breaker and he said something like: "I keep getting messages from the so-called 'graduated programmers', but when I ask them what I need, they no longer reply", so even if you gratuate, you'll still have a shit tons to learn.

In my country, in the first year you only do theory if I'm not mistaken, so that's like 13th grade in high school.

And I haven't really learned much interesting/useful stuff in high school.

If you are in the 12th class now, you should finish it, but make your focus on IM.
