Should I go for this keyword?

Hi guys. I've stumbled across a my first semi-okay keyword and wondering whether or not you guys think it will be profitable. I used Market Samurai to find it, It has 17,000 SEOC with 550 SEOT. From the looks of it, it also has weak competition that I could take out pretty easily. It's also has comerciality as people who search for this term are looking for a product, or information regarding a product.

My idea is develop a wordpress site, become an affiliate with Amazon and post some Amazon referal links correlating to the product, but also to steal some reviews from the particular product and rephrase them and then use it to review the product on my wordpress site with the affiliate link. Afterwards, I'd hire someone to write a few articles relating to this particular keyword and then leave it with possibly an article every two weeks.

What do you think?

I've done this on a wordpress-based review site for a few keywords of similar stats and it's done "ok"... ok as in I've sold maybe 5-7 of the produict in a month (it's a $250ish product) so nothing spectacular. I wrote an article reviewing the same product (all original) and posted that article to a few article sites and that has done far better which was a bit disappointing for me but whatever works...
 
What's the SEOV? And did you run the SEO Compeition Matrix to search for weak compeititors?

So you're saying instead of publishing articles on this site, I should instead write articles and chuck them on ezine articles, go articles, articles city etc? Did these articles redirect them to your wordpress site to make the sale?

SEOV was $4000 and I did run the Competition Matrix, there are some high domain name age rankers on there, however they are being beaten with relatively new sites with half-assed SEO and the keyword in the domain name. I'm thinking if I come in, with a plan, I'll be able to steal #1 within a few months and reap my rewards.
 
If you want quick return then try article sites but in long run you will see your own site could get you better results... As per keyword it seems you got good keyword... Make a wordpress site, little customization to give it look of site related to product... :) always help...

No need to push big content, optimize your site for on-page then start making back links... Gradually increase promotions, target related keywords also... Keep good quality content... You can pick products from amazon and post review along with them... would do good. With such low competition press release could be another good option to bring traffic and back links... Don't be hasty and you will soon doing good with this site...

BTW don't ask these kind of questions... how people gonna suggest and why they should... Make site based on your research and once done start promoting... Ask only if you are stuck at some point or unable to monetize your site...

Thanks, some great advice there. I only posted this thread because I have just started Internet Marketing up again after failing about 3 months ago. I really have no clue what I am doing, but I am putting pieces together bit by bit.

That's what worked best for me....
I did redirect them to my wp site which is using wpzonbuilder to display the contect from Amazon on the particular item. Then from there they click through to Amazon to complete the sale.
